Plasma is a high-temperature gas consisting of a large number of charged (ionized) particles. Since the plasma interacts with the electromagnetic field, its behavior can be quite complex, often providing us with unexpected and fascinating phenomena in the areas of space plasma physics, astrophysics, nuclear fusion, laser physics, etc. As a sequel to "Basic Plasma Physics I (Prof. Hayashi)" we will continue to learn fundamental concepts of the plasma from physics points of view, but in this series, a particular emphasis will be placed on kinetic aspects of the plasma such as the Vlasov model, Landau resonance, and kinetic instabilities.
